Water base adhesives retain solid contents ranging from 45 to 55 percent solids. In contrast to solvent base adhesives, where solid contents range from 15 to 25 percent solids. A higher solid content (%) water base adhesive provides greater adhesive application coverage per volume of adhesive. This allows for the consumer to experience a reduction in product inventory, cost per part, labor, and transportation costs.

Water base adhesives offer many advantages over solvent base adhesives. Water base adhesives eliminate many hazardous chemicals found insolvent base adhesives.
